internet dating scam

September I joined Match.com, I met a “wonderful” man, or so I thought, His name is Frank, Frank Henry…He said he was from Germany, but lives in London, is a civil engineer, self employeed single father. He has a 10 year old daughter named Sandra, and that his wife died 3 years ago giving childbirth. He told me he loved me within 5 emails, He asked me to get off Match.com’ because he didn’t want anyone to steal me from him!!! Well after nearly thre months of wonderful emails, phone conversations, and chats, he asked me to relocate to London, I AGREED, But then he asked me to send $ to him to pay some taxes on a huge contract he was working on, I did….then he asked me to send $ for a PS3 and laptop for his daughter, i did, then $$$ to set the wedding up, ya know secure the date, I did….well twoweeks before I was to move he called me frantic, saying “Sandra” was in an accident @ school and is in the hospital, in a coma with blood on the brain…Two nights before I was to travel, he text me and she”Sandra” was being moved to a different hospital 5 hours away from London, then 4…yes 4 hours before I was to board a plane hetext me and asked me to postpone my trip for a week, because he didn’t want “his wife” to be stranded at the airport…so I did, lost the entire fare, but I did. Two days later, he text me, poor thing died, and he needs $$$ to bury her. He is a LIAR, all lies, I set up a dummy account, and he bite, hool, line, and sinker to the “new” woman, saying he is just getting ready to go to church with his daughter “Sandra”…and sent me the EXACT same photos of he and she!!! Ladies beware….he is a shark, but this SHARK HUNTER is gonna bring him down. His email is frank_henry1@yahoo.com BTW ladies, have you noticed a pattern with these scammers? they all have two first names??? LET’S BRING EM DOWN…ALL OF THEM…HIS # IS 44 7011162949

i have also been corresponding with whatever group is obviously running this scam. mine is a civil engineer on a contract in london, says all the right and romantic things… same story.. 18 year old daughter… madly in love with me, likes plus size women, details in his story not quite not matching… today he needs a small sum to pay his duty tax on supplies at the port he needs to finish his contract.. he hasn't actually asked for money yet, but went away (offline) to " think". suspecting the possibility of fraud (it's a very slick scam group) i thought i was being careful about personal details even tho i was i admit, falling for him for a minute..and now horrifyingly realize i sent him pics from my phone that were probably geotagged. i DID see a few flags in my chat with him, (sorta pink, not quite red) but kept talking myself out of it.. he went by MARK POLDOSKI of santa monica, california, formerly of seattle, washington. his email is LUCKYMARK333@yahoo.com. watch out for him!!!! he sent out a beautiful romantic letter starting with "do you know what it is to look up at the night sky, and yet not see the stars?…." you can read the whole text if you google it…. apparently it's a popular internet scam love letter. good luck, ladies. do your homework and run a background search. i tried to do one on poldoski and came up empty. when i questioned him he got defensive and tried to make me guilty.. don't i trust him? what am i, CIA? should have paid more attention.. now i have to figure out how to get rid of him safely…. any ideas?

Once he realizes you are onto him, you won't have to worry about how to get rid of him. As long as he doesn't have your bank or credit card info, you should be okay.

i too was being scammed… same story, met a great man on plus size dating site.. everything i ever wanted in a man…. supposedly a civil engineer from california in london on self contract at a shell refinery, with 18 yr old daughter in seattle and dead wife. fell in love with me inside of 10 days.. VERY romantic letters (google the first line of the romantic letter and you'll find the exact same letter used in other romance scams ) hours chatting on line, talked about a future, etc. after a month he told me about supplies he'd already paid for sitting on a dock and he had a large check from Shell oil, who he was contracted to, that for some reason he couldn't cash. he needs 400 pounds. he hasn't actually asked for money yet, but that would have been next. last communication from him was to go think about what to do. they don't ask outright for money at first, but try to manipulate you into offering. i cut off communication at that point when i realized what was really going on. i was suspicious for a number of reasons, not the least of which that the name he was claiming had nothing come up in any background check i tried to do. ALWAYS do a background check!! my plan now? i dropped off of communication with him for 3 days, today i'm going to tell him i'm in the hospital and had a heart attack 2 days ago… and i'm SO glad we found each other since i now need to be taken care of…. and when will he be home to US to do so? we'll see how fast he (they) run away!! other red flags? a few times asked the same thing over again on 3 consecutive days ( i was probably chatting with a different person purporting to be him each time), got angry and defensive when found out i told other people i was chatting with him, and when i asked why he didn't show up in any public data base (drivers licenses, property records, yellow pages), had very good colloquial english, but occasionally consistently misspelled simple words (for a supposedly educated man). also supposedly in another country with a young daughter in US yet had no working cell phone and old laptop that had no picture or voice call capability on yahoo messenger… this alias is MARK POLDOSKI with luckymark333@yahoo as his email and mobile cell in england of +44 70 4572 2870. one caution to others i didn't realize till after i'd been sucked in for a week or so and had sent some pictures with my iphone. be sure you DISABLE your GPS locator in your smart phone… or you will inadvertently send anyone you send a picture taken by it metadata… which if you don't know what this is, tells your physical location (longitude and latitude, if not actual address) where the picture was taken. what did i learn? well, if he sounds too good to be true, he probably is. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!!!! background checks are available everywhere on line.. make sure this person you're writing to exists in some verifiable data base.

Ola! Elamb,

This might be off topic, however, Recently i have learnt about the supplement industry being possibly the biggest scam on earth.

But these internet dating websites really take the biscuit.

The success rate is very low. There are women demanding superman not humans and they wont take any less.

They try and commit you to 6 months conracts and take a monthly direct debit.

The worst part is they give unassuming men for whom this is there last hope when there really is none.

There is about a 7:1 ratio of men to women on internet dating websites. This pretty much means the Brad pitts will get a date and the rest are just giving their money to some crook.

It really sickens me what these people are doing.

Keep up the posts!
