Filipino Cupid & filipino heart scam

How and Why I became a romance scammer on filipinoheart.com

*The following is a real event that has been re-written from the original for clarity with names changed to protect those who were willing to come forward… the real ludivina yasay is a lady that scammed me lol. The original author of this story is not named but she really did do this. I may post the original (and change the names) for now you get a simulation of a REAL event.. the emails in this post is real, the story is real.*

My name is Ludivina Yasay. I am from Cebu City, Philippines. About a year ago, I scammed an American named Matt T. I met him on a popular dating website called filipinocupid.com (filipinoheart.com in the Philippines). Over the course of 8 months, I took about $3000 dollars from him.

Why did I do it?
I needed money.

How did I do it?
I gained his trust, told him what he wanted to hear and he believed me. He fell in love then gave me money.

How it all began
After graduating college, I could not find a job. Jobs are REALLY hard to get in certain parts of the Philippines. Places like General Santos, Cebu City and many other places have many people and very little jobs available. Many families can barely afford to pay rent, utilities or even eat. Even with a college degree, I could not find a job for over a year.

I started searching for jobs online. While in the Internet caf, I over heard two people talking about how they would get money via Western Union from a person they were chatting with. While I was trying to unsuccessfully get jobs each day, they were getting paid from some guys online.

Filipino Heart Scam Ring
I found out my friend was involved in the same people I had seen in the Internet cafe. She explained to me what was going on. She told me that they would find guys from the United States on dating sites. They used a fake profile on Filipino cupid, flirt with these men, start a relationship, then get money. This ring of Filipino heart scammers were mostly gay men.

They told me that they do it so much that they are actually able to buy home, cars and live very well in the Philippines.

Since my family and I were struggling, I decided to do it. I create a fake account with a picture of a model. I had a set of pictures. Very quickly I had a guy who was interested, Matt T.

We began to talk and I told him everything he wanted to hear. I told him that I was looking for a guy who is serious, I told him I was attracted to him. I told him anything to make him feel good. I didnt care about him he is just a stranger. I just need money.

How I got the Money
Message to Matt:

hope you have a very nice day today… its have a wonderful today when i found you.. i fill always happy when you respond to my email.. and i fill that your a guy that god given me and i know in my heart your the right one for me…. hope we could chat soon. i miss to chat w you.. take care….. love”

from MATT:

That is very sweet. I look forward to taking the time to know you better. I want to know the dreams and wishes of your heart. :)

After a short time, he started to trust me so we were starting to speak like friends. When I mention to him that my family does not have enough to eat he is concerned for me.. his friend. I did not ask for money directly. When I mention I am in trouble, he offered to send me money. I pretend to be reluctant, then took the money.

Falling in Love & telling the truth
Everytime I mention my troubles, he offered money. After a while we started getting closer and closer and he is giving me more and more money. The funny thing is I never even really asked him.. I just gained his trust and he offered when I said I am in trouble.

He told me about how he is getting a divorce with his wife. He told me He has two kids. He told me how he is lonely lately and all about his life. Over the months, he help me anytime I needed it. He helped me move to another city, find a job and even explained how I can help him with a business he runs and pay me!

We started to really get close and even fall in love. Over time, I realized that I really love him and do not want to live a lie. As a practicing Catholic, it was hard for me to accept this lie.

I went to church and did confession. The priest told me I should tell him the truth.

The closer we got the more I realize I cannot do this anymore to him. He thinks I am some other woman. One night he told me he wants me to be his girl friend. So I decided to tell him the truth.

I told him my real name, showed him my real picture. He was upset that I had lied to him for so long. I was not sure if he would ever talk to me again after I told him the truth. But I wanted him to know the truth.

I wonder if I can gain his trust back. I feel that I hurt the only man I will ever love.

I regret what I did to him. More than anything else, I dont want to lose him.

Ludivina, you don't need to scam anyone – i met a girl on Filipno Cupid and our relationship is strong, don't be tempted by easy money – it has a price. Take time to meet the right guy for the right reasons and be true to yourself. I have been to the Philippines so I understand that life is hard over there. You can't change the past but you can take a different approach next time, I hope you do, we can all change.

a simple lesson dont fall in love with any filipina on a dating site!! until you meet them in real and check out there background this takes time in a relationship with a filipina.I have been to the phil's for 4 years now have a child there and know there culture and our western culture is much different, but always be carefull cos even honest filipina's will tell you trust no one,no matter what blah blah and sweet words they tell you! I have seen them in action at internet cafe's over there some girls buy lap top computers, motor cycles, whatever from scamming foriegners.all good honest filipina girls will not ask for money until they have a full relationship with you.

This website is a total joke. None of these girls exist. They posed for pics, got paid, and then the idiots in Australia keep firing friend requests at you hoping you bite. I did, because I had $29.99 to spend just to check this website out. They will send you a profile of one of these girls saying that they have messaged you, you read the message and they tell you they want to communicate with you, you reply saying yes, and they never message back. The jerkoffs is Aussie land are too stupid to totally play the game with you. Don't waste your money. It's just a pathetic game they play to get your money.

LOL! I wish 3 grand was all that the filipino cupid cuties scammed out of me..what a fatal addiction! They are fools for scamming. The truth always comes out. American men are the most generous men in the world. It is a golden opportunity for the girls to live their dreams. A nice home, law and order, cribs and clothes and medical care for their babies. A 12 kilo bag of rice at Sams Club is an insignificant purchase. Himalayan grown rice! Only a fool would scam a man willing to love you and provide a life like this for you. Only a fool. A fool and opportunity soon part ways. hehehe

There are hundreds of these scammer girls on websites like filipinocupid.com. Ask to see the girl on webcam… if she is really the same girl whose pics are posted she will show herself to you on webcam, if she is a scammer you will hear all the BS and lame excuses in the world. Don't believe any of their lame excuses (too far away, dangerous, no money, etc…), as there are literally tens of thousands of Internet cafes everywhere in the Philippines where a girl can rent a computer with a webcam for 30 pesos ($0.75) per hour.

the best women in asian world to get married to as a foreigner are mostly filipino women. why did she do that to a person who consider and trust her? why? why? am a black man and have sincerly respect for the filpinos because they know what is love. they want to feel secured, protected and in return they give their heart ,their soul and everything they can to make a man the happiest one in the world. any man who wants them should go ahead and find a woman in that wonderful country. no one should talk about poverty because nobody chooses to be poor. poverty is everywhere in the world. if you love a person just accept him as he is. that is all. long life to all filpinos. they are the wonderful people in the whole asian

While I do not condone Ludivina's action I do understand. I have been to the Philippines on many occasions and people have to understand how desparate entire families become in search for income for their next meal. It is of course nevertheless totally unacceptable to play with someones emotions (and wallet) in search of personal gain. I have been lucky enough to find the love of my life in the Philippines with a very honest and beautiful girl…and believe me the Filipino's are the friendliest and kindest people on this planet.

The remorse and guilt seem genuine and it sounds like Matt was a willing participant in the deception, in other words he wanted to believe so badly that he was in denial that the situation could be anything other than what he needed it to be. Also sounds like $3000 was a small price to pay for the therapeutic comfort that Matt received from these interactions ie it made him feel good to do good for someone less fortunate than himself. Also I would be a lot less sympathetic if it turned out that this deception was being perpetrated by some scumbag Nigerian or Russian (may they all burn in hell.) This was a genuine woman doing her best to survive in a hard world. My only criticism would be that the girl used a fake picture. I'm sure that Matt would be prepared to forgive and forget her initial motivations (in light of her subsequent feelings of love for him) if he finds her physically attractive. If not then in my humble opinion as a typical "shallow man" I would guess she is out of luck. Just my two cents worth. Good luck to them both.

Have just been communicating with a Russian Girl.
    She was 35 .
    Drop dead gorgeous beautiful Blond.
Sent me 30 e-mails and 80 photos- I was in LOVE.

But those pics – was it her?
Or were some of those of a professional scamster, taken by an even more professional photographer?

Only when she started asking for money – and I queried the Docs/Airplane tickets, I started to THINK. !!

I Googled her adds – She came out on Top as one of the USSR's worst Fraud Dateline Scammers.

Be careful out there guys – it's a bloody minefield.

Reading what she wrote, that is so like my fiancee, her aunt helped her set up profile, then coach her into asking for money in round about way but then she fall in love with me very deeply, when l visit her in Cebu and ask her to marry me, she cried so much, told me of her aunt and what happened, she felt trapped between aunt, her fathers sister and her feeling for me.
To cut a long story short, we are together and she never see aunt.

To all of you here that keep getting scammed. I am American, very conservative and do not tolerate crime or scams. Yet all the people getting scammed are usually looking for prey anyways. You all seek out very young girls in foreign countries that are willing to be subserviant house wives and do whatever you want. You are usually searching for poor girls that are just looking for someone to marry regardless of what you look like. To all of you old bastards and losers with no social skills and small peniss, Stay out of the Philippines and away from filipina girls. Stick with the lowlife American bitches and to Matt, you are a piece of shit anyways. You are married with 2 kids and are not even divorced yet looking for asian ass. The only ones that get scammed deserve it. The only reason that sex is an industry there is because of western influence. To many men go there get a girl pregnant and never return. Deadbeats and sexual predators leave single mothers to raise there kids in poverty with no help. I hope more Filipinas get smart to this scam and rob you dirty creeps of your money since it is going to be used on hookers anyways.

I was recently separated and tried out FC, enamored by the beautiful ladies and their interest in leaving the Phils. I'm 55 and ladies in early to mid-30s were interested, something that would be unusual in the USA, where early 40's would probably be the youngest here.

Anyway, the first lady I met had been impregnated by a guy from Montana she met on FC. I wasn't that interested in bringing kids here, because American schools often charge tuition for non-resident students. And I wasn't sure about retiring early to the Phils. She was desperate for money, so as a lawyer, I ended up doing some pro bono work to negotiate a child-support arrangement with the guy in Montana. That was my first experience.

The second one ended up (possibly) being a gay guy posing an attractive lady. But it got murky when she appeared on Skype, so I was confused. She admitted using his ID-name (Kim) but from the skype I could see it was a real lady… anyway, I ended up having a lot of fun each morning here chatting with her and ended up buying her an iphone as a Valentine's Day present. I just did it because I liked her and I had plenty of money.

The third lady from Cebu had two kids, but they were grown. She was about to be laid off from a job that paid her $8/day, with no real options. Mid-30s is hard to find a job. I think she's nice and enjoyed talking to her, so I paid her tuition to become a Caregiver, and give her a chance to work in Canada for a lot more money once she graduates. She's really enthustiastic and all smiles. Worth the few hundred bucks to help her, you know?

Number 4 has two little kids, no job and is really desperate. I suggested she consider Caregiver school, and she's jumped at the idea. These ladies are in fact quite desperate given the high population and low economic activity. The cost of food takes about 60% of their earnings, and they live in poverty.

So I guess I will help her too, along with the others, even though I will probably never meet them. And you know what? I feel pretty good that I'm helping them out a bit, to give them some opportunities that they are grabbing and running with…

Was I scammed? I don't thing so, because I helped them knowing that I'm not really expecting much if anything in return (other than a big smile).

Number Five is a lady who's only 25 (on the low end of my age limit, even for the Phils). Really beautiful girl living on a little farm 30 miles from a remote town in one of the islands. Just beautiful girl, though. I've skyped with her. She met a guy in Holland and even went over there to marry him, but his family booted her out because of race/age issues. Really hurt her feelings….

She hasn't asked me for anything, or "poor mouthed" me. Seems pretty genuine… who knows, maybe there is love in the Phils…. stranger things have happened. Until then, I don't mind helping a few folks along the way, even realizing they just want financial help, at least for education and a chance to get ahead legitimately.

The most mature and sensible comment on here and helps me to reflect upon my own POV / outlook. The most angry people here seem to be the ones who themselves would have the worst intent with Filipino women–and therefore the judgement they make is very hypocritical (especially with the poster named "American"–a bad example of one I would hope).

As far as I can tell, even this lady who scammed and confessed would still easily hold a higher moral ground since she did at least confess and express what by any judgement seems to be sincere remorse. Before judging and condemning, they really should consider their own selves as well as put themselves in the shoes of another person (unfortunately though this will never likely happen due to lack of empathy).

Guys out there must always be careful of the filipinas because it is hard to tell of who are the good ones and who are just wanting to take money. And i can say most are bad. Everyone must be aware of reasons why they do it . http://elamb.org/filipina-scam-online/ this are true. It's easy to act and fake themselves online. I'm also a filipina and i've witnessed a lot of bad acts going on around here. Many are doing all those. So its really best to have meet them in person, date and talk to know their intentions.

we all fall in love sometimes ,its easy to understand why people lost trust to someone who fooled their head inspite of their sincerity to them ..we have to trust people with an open eyes..in my case I met my fiancé in Filipinocupid.com he sent money ,yes, more than 3000$ but I used it in preparation of our wedding next week,,we love and trust each other ,,first all of all from the very beginning were very compatible and welling to commit, thanks to FC..everything is possible ,,but still ,,be smart..

Filipino Cupid is a legit dating site, but like most things on the Internet you cannot trust everyone on it.

This day in age if you're not aware that some people are out to screw you over, well I guess you deserve to get scammed.

However, to call the site a scam ring is wrong. It isn't.
