I’ve had few different cable carriers over the years. I typically get a DVR but have been disappointed by the fact that it is so difficult to get data off of those devices. It sucks to record something cool and have it trapped on a device you may have to give back to the cable company!
This is much easier said than done. At first, I thought it was just a matter of connecting the DVR directly to my PC or network. NOPE, this is not usually the case. some DVRs do not have USBs and others disable the on board USB.
