Got a message like the above ones with slight differences :
Guinness has officially completed the X Fest Bonanza held on the 1st of October 2008. The winning ticket was selected from a Data Base of Internet Email Users, from which your Address came out as the winning coupon.
Amount: Ј1.6million (One Million, Six Hundred Thousand British Pounds Sterling). , etc…
Don’t know how to take it. Whether it’s a joke? If not, what then is their profit? I may appear to be a rural fool, but if they need my personal information, why not ask me streight out?

  5. Colin Payne on November 14th, 2008 4:08 am

Hey I just won this! Evan, you can’t steal my 1.6million quid, I need it to by my new helicopter. You even had the same winning numbers!

I somehow don’t believe it…..am I being stupid? All I really want to know is what sort of Wally gets his jollies from this, and why do they all seem to originate in Africa?

I’m in Africa and it unfortunately says something about the type of people that do this…………not PC I know, at least you would think the stupid bleeders would learn to spell.

I sent a mail back, telling them to stick it as I am rich enough!

  6. Another Hit on November 15th, 2008 7:47 pm

I got the same scam , different dates. Though it would be nice, it’s unlikely that a stranger wants to give an individual a huge sum of money without their prior knowledge.
