Here is sample letter from a “woman” named Sadia. She is from Ghana, she is part American Indian and African. She enjoys long walks in the part and is an English Literary genius:

This girl is a definite scammer. She is registered on various websites with different names and scam innocent men in search for love.
My impression is, she supports herself by doing this type of activity and lives large
in Ghana.
Men be aware, do not allow yourself to fall for her beauty. She will tell you all the endless things you want to hear to get in your pocket. I corresponded with her for a brief time, and every week, she had a different story to ask for money. She lives on the computer in search for her next victim.

Apparently, the Ghana dating scam isn’t all about the women it’s men too. Men pretending to be well off and wanting to rescue a woman from the evils of American men – plus they want to treat you like a queen! Now they’re posting on dating sites claiming to live in an American city but now out of the country building bridges or some type of humanitarian work.

I was taken in by a beautiful lady named Helina Franklin. She was to come here to me in US. I met her and before I knew it, I was sending money for a visa (350.00) She was calling 2 to 3 times a day and I thought this was real. I then sent money for a ticket(1200.00) Then she told me she needed pocket money and she said to send(1250.00) This man then called from his cell phone and said she needed money for (airport tax) and (baggage fee) and he said it was (530.00) I also sent (500.00) to assist in personal money. She never made it to airport. She called and said she had been kidnapped by mafia, and they wanted (10,000.00) for her release. This is when I knew for sure that I was being scammed. I told her that I did not have the money so she would have to call Ghana and raise money. The man Prince Faiti called me later to say that hje had raised 4500.00 and wanted me to send him the other 5500.00 to have her released so she could come to me. I told him that I knew this was a scam and I was calling police. He then said ” hold on, she isnt kidnapped she was caught with drugs in Londonand this money is to pay fine, she has to have it by today or she will be deported back to Ghana and thrown in jail so I better act fast ” I tlod him to forget about me paying anymore money and Im repoting him to authorities. I havent heard any more from him or Helina. I

The sad thing is Im recently divorced and new to internet. I had no idea girls would take your money, but I never researched anything either. I fell for this and went and borrowed money to send to her, Money that Im making payments on for next 2 years. So now I know about scams. I am a victim of Helina Franklins love scam. I just had to tell someone and get it out. I am so depressed about it though and its a bad feeling to be taken. It has made me smarter but now Im broke and paying for it.

I was reading Email from other members when a chat box appeared, she was suppose to be from my area and we chatted. Soon she gave me Email address so we could talk privately. Soon I found out she was from Ghana, she was 28 yrs old and told of story of husband cheating and beating her. She wanted to visit USA of coarse but had no money, She has sent pictures but only one with Her face, all other pictures are from next down and no face. It is obviuos all different girls. When asked she did not answer. She ask for new camera, and money for ring, when asked why, she replies that she wants men to know she belongs to someone. Each time she asks for money, I ask her for address and she doesn’t answer. She tells me she is getting paper work for visa and needs $350.00 now. I told her I would do paper work in USA and she gets upset. She never answers the same ever for same question. Years ago I was able to have one Russian woman srrested by embassy a nd FBI. It is a shame that this goes on. Her name in Ghana is Rhiannon Davies, Supposedly a teacher, beware out there. They are everywhere.

Beware I have been able to find out about her everywhere on the internet. I just helped a very dear friend get past being scammed by a scumbag calling himself David Smith from Ghana, Africa. He fit all the criteria mentioned above like only wanting to communicate by email or instant message, confessing falling in love with her immediately and promising her all kinds of extravagant gifts and lifestyles. The list goes on and on and he was supposedly in Ghana as some type of engineer. His scam included convincing my friend he went to Africa from Dallas, Tx and took no credit cards and had his bank accounts frozen because he had been a victim of ID theft during a prevoius trip. Well he dropped his laptop and “could not” complete this most important job without one. He actually convinced her of this. By this time this was like a fairy tale love story and they would coo and cuddle and talk such sweet nonsense to each other on the many phone calls a day and he had her right where he wanted her. She actually left work and went and purchased a 900.00 laptop (just to his specs) and paid 350.00 for overnight shipping. She still believed in him. He kept promising her he would be home on 12/23/08 just to be with her on Christmas and even had his “travel agent” send her his itinerary. She was estatic. Then the travel agent informed him in order for him to get home by Christmas he had to pay cash up front. This is when we finally convinced her the guy was a scam artist. She confronted him by phone and he stood his ground till the end and even when she told him off and told him she had been a fool he just questioned her with “baby are you sure you want to throw this all away”. Oh my gosh I just could not believe it when I got on the net and typed in dating scams in ghana africa. The links came back by the dozens.So folks if any of you ladies hear from a Mark Smith but Im sure they change their names regularly be sure to know he needs to be hung by his _____ in the middle of a womens prison. Oh and he says he has a driver by the name of Maxwell Addo and is also the person with a po box that the lap top was shipped to. If I can be of any help catching this scum bag please feel free to contact me.

if they are from another country dont send any thing,that is the rule of the game

I have a friend who is receiving instant messages and phone calls from a man “named” Michael Storkinggorf’ yeah, that’s right. He is an international “man of business” as he calls himself who buys and sells properties for his boss and hisself all over the world. Again, yeah, right. He claims to be based out of Miami, but is currently “out of country” and won’t tell us where. The country code that comes up is Ghana. He has had items sent to her home, not very expensive things, shoes, DVDs, frufru toiletries… He has just asked that she ship these things to an orphanage for him, and in return keep a few of the items… Of course the invoices have names of other people on them as the owner of the credit card. I confronted him today and asked why he can’t just have these Items shipped directly to the orphaneges (because I was finally beginning to see what was going on). He did not answer me. I told him I was calling my friend at the FBI, and he quickly removed himself from the instant messanger chat. Guess what? It is a scam… He is purchasing these things on stolen, or manufactured cards, and “fencing” the products through my friend. She is a victim in all of this, and won’t get into any trouble> WE LEARNED EARLY!!! She did not spend any money, we turned everything in before she could get into any trouble!!! Watch out for this scam!!!

This garbage scammers from ghana, I wish I had the means to find their location and arrange for massive beating that they will never forget. I was scammed with about $270. I had jut broken up with my girl friend at that time, and after hearing many success stories of people meeting through the internet and even overseas through the internet also, I decided to see what online dating was all about. I was very naive about online dating and how it worked, and I lacked internet skills. The girl was supposably from the US, but had gone to visit her sick granmother in Ghana. After a weeks of chating and sending emails, She told me that she was short $200 for the airline ticket to come back to the US.
I did not want to send money at first, and asked her to send me more pictures of her self taken in differnt location; and she did; then I asked her to give me the address of where she lived in the USA, and she gave me a valid address as well. She told me she only wanted to borrow the money, and that she will pay me the full amount once she arrived. One side of me did not wat to send any money (seeing inside of me that it was a scam), but the onther side was thinking that she probaly did needed help. So I did send her the $200 via Western Union ( which charge me a fee of about $70). After she received the money she contacted me and told me that her passport had expaired and that she needed $400 more. It was at that time when I began to feel really sutpid and an idiot for sending any money.

The ghanian men are doing the same thing. I would advise everyone to stay away from overseans connections these people may have. One person that contacted me on Blackpeoplemeet was named Elijah White. I didn’t give him a chance to rip me off, he couldn’t get his story straight from one email to the next. below is an example of his story:

” Hello Your Name,Um i must say i do like your simple style of living with a new friend and believe i emback every little question you’ve been asking me and as a matter of fact i do like to be asked a lot of question..Coming back on your questions,My dad is originally from Long beach California,mom from Philipines…I only have 1 brother by name Samuel currently in Frankfurt Germany,mom and dad divorced at the age of 32yrs of age way back in University level,i started my elemetary school at Prisk Elementary (Long Beach, CA) 5320 Pine Ave, Long Beach,then after i end up in Cabrillo High School, Long Beach)2121 Fanwood Ave, Long Beach.I later came and ended up in California State University near the walter pyramid which i took 4Yr Graduate level programmes..So after my Graduation in the University i then relocated to the Philines where mom later ended up her life since the divorce,so mom adviced me to enter into another educations level over there which i can obtain the HND in Academy of Philipines Culture and Health Science which i took the course for 5yrs…I did attachment on that course with some company called the Alavanyo Healthcare for 3yrs experience working on the HND i got from the school…So afterwards mom had a sickeness by breast Cancer which ete her up for several time by then i need to stay with her for her medications which dad never came to her aid what so ever so life was a bit terrible for mom,by then Samuel was no where to be found because my dad is into drugs and alcohol so we were not enjoying the stay with him so we dispatched…Mom survived his and God being soo Good we came in contact with Sammy,we met by then God also blessed me with a wife from Philipines so we invited Sammy and his wife and that is the picture you are seeing now….Unfortunatly my wife met her sudden death some year’s ago leaving behind a loving baby boy by name Michael…Mom is never strong taking care of my kid at anytime i make a business trip so i only have to let my son accompany me to every country i travel on a business trip….I went back to Cali a year ago before travelling to Ghana because i need to establish this my Gold business over there as well…So Your Name listen to me i’ve had a terrible life some yrs ago and now Thanks to God things changed authomatically but with dad i never want to have anything to do with him because he’s got a useless life,sitting over there with his alcoholic and drugs life with the wife she went in for…Thats something little my mind can capture for now lol and i hope and believe this is all you will have to know for now lol..I’ll try to hit on you for a while later for more talks but do let me hear about you as well because i would love to know you more better as well okay…So til then stay sweet and be blessed.. “

I believe this woman has taken a co- worker of mine for over 40,000 dollars, he is very gullable, his attorney even told him he was being scammed and he still is sending as much money as he can get his hands on. She had gold story. she says she has been locked in jail several times, and he has to bribe someone, the middle man goes by the name prince will and other names. He calls her comfort. She must be a very good talker because everyone who knows this man has told him he is being scammed, and he is still sending her money.

after getting messages from them , i started playing their game and have 20-30 of them that sent me pics. many are same pic ,differant person. they follow a script and are easily confused if you get them off track !! there big thing seems to be calling cards , i guess they can cash them in . hope this helps someone !!

For me the girl goes under the name Juliana Ntow who approached me when i was on a dating site as well . People always look up their name on google.com under images and maybe even facebook.com. This chick is a real charmer for sure well the one i am dealing with and i am still playing along with. She says she is lebanese and lived in England then went to Ghana to live with her granny and she says she now works at McDonalds there, she just recently asked me to bring her and her granny to my country and told me it was $4000.00 total for both….YA RIGHT……SURE I”LL GET RIGHT ON THAT!!!!!. Anyway i am still playing along to see how far i could string her.

Ok guys I have been talking to the girl in the above picture she is now calling herself Sandra Quansah.
I knew this was a scam from day one as straight away she said she had found her soul mate come how anyone can work this out in 5 mins.
But I have continued to talk to her and even seen her on web cam and must say the girl in the pic is the same girl I have seen on cam and must say she has one hell of a body seen the lot.

She has even send me some very nice pics that shows the lot.
Her scam she is trying to pull on me is she is studying in America to be a nurse but her mum is ill in Ghana first she asked for me to send some money to pay for her mums treatment as soon as I said I had no money she went quiet and she left it for a few days before she tried to then get me to send her some money so she could fly out to Ghana and see her mum.
This failed next she asked if i can send her brother some cloths out to Ghana she gave me an address and name and everything.
Currently she is trying to scam me for some money to get the internet connected at her house in Ghana as she says she has to talk to me from an internet cafe.
I find it amazing that she was supposed to be struggling for money yet she has managed to pay her mums medical bills and fly to Ghana what a joke.
Mind you everything will be fine when she comes to England and lives with like she say’s she is going to do HONEST LOL.
All I can say is I have had some fun playing this girl at her own game and if any one wants a copy of the pics then let me know.

ONCE YOU CLICK ON HER PROFILE SHE THEN AUTOMATICLY IM YOU TO CHAT! this is when her scam begins. she will tell you she is not working right now and she is going to school to be a dancer, and she is looking for a special someone. she will then say she wants to only be with you! and she no longer wants no other man but you. she will then want your personal E-Mail address cuz its more private and she can send you more fake pictures. then she will tell you she is gonna cancel her BPM account becuase you are the only man for her and she wants you to cancel “YOUR” account as well!! THIS IS TO PROVE TO HER THAT YOU WANT TO BE WITH HER AS WELL! she will even go as far to give you her fake BPM screenname and her password to her account to prove to you that she cancelled her fake account, and wants your screenname and password to see if you did the same. the password she used was estherleigh12! she will then ask for your phone# …be careful dont give out your # I gave her my cell# and when she called me the woman couldnt even speak a bit of english and didnt know what or where the state of MD was… one I exsposed her scam she tried crying and explaining ,NO GOOD! I caught on to her scam she hung up and never called back…..but the bad thing for me is I had to change my# and I dont know why I even wasted my time with that bullshit MEN BE CAREFUL………….

Here’s my experience with Juliana from June 21st, 2009:

I partially completed setting up a profile on Lavalife early Saturday afternoon. I logged on later that night and a woman instant messaged me. This seemed odd (since my profile didn’t really say anything yet and there were no pics of me), but I thought maybe she was drunk or crazy, so what the hell, I began chatting with her. I was very surprised how nice & smart she was. She emailed me a pic (supposedly of her), which was not one of the Raven Riley pics, but instead some other young attractive woman. Juliana claimed to be 29, of Scottish-Lebanese descent, living in Aberdeen, Scotland, although the pic looked much younger. Also the pic was well-lit and hi-resolution – most real people don’t have pics of themselves like that. There was no immediate mention of money. In fact, we chatted for hours on 2 different occasions and there still has been no mention of money. I googled her name though and found this thread. At one point she mentioned her parents and boyfriend had been killed by war in Lebanon in 2006 and made a vague mention that her grandmother had fled to Ghana (which is an absurd place to flee, especially since Canada lined up boats & planes to extricate refugees). Then she asked if we could change the topic. Her background story was very good and very detailed and she was slow in revealing anything. She never got to the point of asking me for money, but I had already read these postings so my conversations with her became more guarded (but still very enjoyable, as long as you’re okay with the fact you’re being lied to). I think there may be more than one person doing the chatting from Ghana. At one point there was a significant pause and then the tone of the chat (and the spelling) changed a bit. It may have been the same person, but I wouldn’t bet on it. The story I got was somewhat different than the one the previous poster received. Juliana is a waitress in a pub in Aberdeen, looking for a serious relationship. She’s an academic-type (studying finance!), but she only completed one year of the program. It was when I asked why that the initial set-up began with the dead parents and all… this is a good scam – very believable. Be warned.

Well again I am the original poster for the Juliana Ntow scam. People I can’t beleive I had made come clean. She had told me the real reasons what she did and why she did it, plus the real pic and web cam viewing were shown to me for the first time. SHE CAME CLEAN ABOUT IT AND APOLOGIZED, and had stated there are alot of woman and men from Ghana that do this. She had applogized tromendously and continiouslly. The picture is most likely the individual, many of these scammers aquire these photos from other people who's profile they have stolen. The person also sending the pre-fabracated letter may be a man and not a women. Note if someone falls in love with you that quick and starts to call you pet names and don't even know you it a good sign it's a scam.

What you need to do is to try and come down to Ghana and meet up with her. Not just a few days. Make plans to visit for about a month. I f it is real, you will be introduced to her family almost immediately. Then they will want you to perform some customary rites showing that you at least, intend to marry their daughter. You will, within this time, get a feel of what kind of person it is you are planning on bringing into your life.

Make all these arrangements without sending her any money. If she asks for money to pay for reservations for a hotel room (which is a very legitimate request, as there may not be room to house you in their house, if they have one and she may not have enough money to pay). Either make your payment online to one of the online registered hotels or insist on paying when you get here.

As a Ghanaian lady, I am tired of people branding my country a scam zone. Be wise about it and you wont fall victim.

If she really just wanted to travel, she wouldn't worry about which country the processing was done, as long as it got done. An obvious scammer! Also conflicting stories. Not to try and burst your bubble, but that was probably not your scammer. The dude probably was. He just enlisted her help to convince you that she did it out of poverty and is now very contrite, just to make sure you dont send authorities after her. I see it all the time and have turned down contless offers to speak to 'clients ' on the phone because i speak good english and with an accent that isn't quite local because i am only half ghanaian.
Also, most females that do it, do it as themselve, that is, chat live on webcam and try and get you to bring them over to your country. Good your guard is up now and I agree, DON'T SEND ANY MONEY!!!! If you are that serious and think you have found love, come to Ghana and meet the love of your life. The worse would be it would be a vaccation rather than the longed for meeting of a soulmate.
Not all Ghanaians are bad. Some are really looking for love. I have a 26 yr old friend who has also given up on internet dating because people are wary of scammers. ah well!

What you need to do Randy, is keep chatting with her until she does ask for something. Even then, don't write her off. Poverty has made a lot of us become asker/beggars. Don't send the money just go along with it for a while and see if she is genuine and needs help or is indeed a scammer. After a few atemps, it will be obvious.
As a Ghanaian lady, I am tired of people branding my country a scam zone. Be wise about it and you wont fall victim.

I doubt she lives on the computer guys, In one of her web cam days with me, she was typing her great love to me while she did a strip , she never touched a key board the entire time the words came up on the screen! Later that day her nail polish changed in the middle of the day. Rather difficult for a gal in GHANA? She asked for money every time, to the point, if I didn't send money she was going to die, for lack of an operation! Interesting how in her BIO she is half Indian and Half Italian but she tells us all that her mother was from Australia and her Father was from GhANA. Howerver she does not have a US passport but was born in the US,.
All in all a great SCAM artist and a poor fraud. i you give her money guys you are fools.
